Castle Cars wins Gold QSi Award in the UK’s only national awards for the private hire, taxi and chauffeur sector.
Tonbridge-based company takes Gold in the Private Hire Operator (1-80cars) category, and also collects Bronze award in the Community category.
A night to remember for Britain’s chauffeur and private hire industry.
Tonbridge-based Castle Cars has won the Gold Award in the Private Hire Operator (1-80cars) category of the prestigious Professional Driver QSi Awards. And it was a double celebration for the company, which also collected the Bronze award in the Community Award category.
Professional Driver Editor Mark Bursa said: “Castle Cars is an outstanding servant to its town. Its emphasis on old-fashioned personal service meant it offered a “cabs for jabs” service for elderly and vulnerable customers – funded by public donations and local businesses under a crowdfunding scheme. And despite a massive hit to its business, it continued supporting local charities and providing special training for all its drivers to ensure the highest standards. The company has won Silver and Bronze awards before in the QSi Awards, but this year it truly deserved Gold.”
Professional Driver magazine’s QSi Awards ceremony was a night to remember for the cream of Britain’s chauffeur and private hire operators. The awards, open to every chauffeur and private hire company in the UK, are designed to recognise operators and individuals that demonstrate excellent standards of Quality, Service and Innovation.
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were presented in 10 categories at a thrilling event, held at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales.
The 10 categories mean there’s something for every size and type of operator, from one-man bands to large fleets. Categories also reward innovations in marketing, environmental performance and local community activities, while a special award – Professional Driver of the Year – singles out a chauffeur or private hire driver who is judged to be the best in the UK.
Mark Bursa said: “The private hire, taxi and chauffeur industry has made an enormous contribution to keeping Britain moving throughout the Covid pandemic, delivering food and medicines, transporting key workers and helping the elderly and vulnerable get to vaccination centres.”
“This year’s Professional Driver QSi Awards recognise those amazing efforts and bring the industry together for a much-needed night of celebration.”
Mark Bursa continued: “We were overwhelmed by the quality of the entries, and it was a very tough job to pick our winners. Only very good operators made the short list, so we can be sure our Gold, Silver and Bronze winners are among the very best in Britain.”
